Holders Season is here once again! Every year Barbados welcomes an incredible array of artists to its shores for a celebration of opera, music and theatre in an incredible one-of-a-kind setting.
Celebrating 20 years of one of the most highly acclaimed cultural festivals in the Caribbean, Holders Season will run from the 9th March to the 23rd March 2013.
This event, which is considered to be ‘the premier cultural event in the Caribbean’, will be held at one of Barbados’ traditional historic homes. Attracting audiences from around the world, the magnificent grounds of Holders House provide the perfect atmosphere for this first-class event.
This is a cultural festival quite unlike any other seen anywhere in Barbados, and this year is no exception. The season kicks off with a tribute to the music of Hollywood in the 50’s and 60’s, featuring the music of Frank Sinatra and the ‘Rat Pack’ that will be headlined by Peter Grant. The following Tuesday will see the London Community Gospel Choir perform at the Gospel Charity Night for the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Some other ‘not-to-be-missed’ nights include the African Night, which will feature Muntu Valdo from West Africa, and the comedy night, which will feature Paul Merton. Leading four remarkable comedians from London’s number one venue The Comedy Store, this will be a night of laughs from beginning till end, so be prepared to get involved in the fun!
