The Barbados Open Water Festival
Now let’s get into the water! The 6th edition of the Barbados Open Water Festival 2018 is one of the biggest competitive events to hit the island’s shores – literally! With a register of varying watersports enthusiasts, the participants usually represent the disciplines of water polo, swimming, triathlons as well as Olympians, world champions, swim clubs as well as recreational swimmers! It all goes down from November 7 through 11 with open water swim events (1.5km, 3.3km, 5km and 10km), ‘Just for Fun’ swim races, stand up paddle board races and kayak team relay races.

If you’re ready to pull out those running shoes and break a sweat, then we have just what the holiday doctor has ordered. From December 7 to 9, the Run Barbados Marathon Weekend takes place at various locations around the island, where professionals and hobbyists, veterans and school children and everyone else in between gather to post their personal bests! The weekend’s schedule features the Marathon, Half Marathon, the Fun Mile, 5K Charity Walk and 5K and 10K runs – as well as entertainment and fun for the whole family!
